Here are answers and information to some of the most frequently asked questions.

Shipping & Delivery

We strive to provide you with the best possible service we can, so we would ask that you provide us with the maximum lead time possible. Due to our rural location we only dispatch on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. As our produce is perishable, we prefer not to send out parcels any later which may get stuck in a depot over the weekend.

We only delivery to mainland UK locations (excluding Scottish Islands, Ireland, Isle of Man, Channel Islands, Isles of Scilly).

Due to our very rural location we only receive one uplift a day. We use a courier service however your order my take 48 hours from leaving us to arrive. Please bare this in mind.

We endeavour to deliver your orders on the requested date however sometimes adverse weather conditions or circumstances beyond our control prevent this from happening in which case your delivery will reach you at the next available opportunity.

All orders are packed with reusable ice/gel packs to maintain a low temperature during transit.

All small packages and sides are sent in sealed insulated pouches or polystyrene boxes.

Postage, packing, and delivery is not charged on orders over £70+ however there is a fixed charge of £15.00 on each individual parcel under £70.00 to a single address.

Can my order be left in a safe place if I go out?

It’s always best to be in to receive your delivery as you will need to sign for it. If you request for your parcel to be left in a safe place at your address (e.g. garden shed, with neighbour etc.) clear instructions must be stated on your order.

What do I do if my order hasn’t arrived?

Your order will be delivered on your specified day, usually between 9am and 5.30pm, unfortunately we cannot stipulate a precise time but usually parcels get delivered by 3pm. If you order has not arrived by 16.00 on the requested day and you are concerned please call us on 01369 705 286 and will contact the courier.

Can I order and send as a gift to someone?

Yes of course. We can deliver to friends, family and work colleagues. You can also request a gift message to be sent when placing your order. Please remember to leave clear delivery instructions should your recipient(s) be out, better still to warn them they will be receiving a surprise!

Do you do gift vouchers?

Yes we do. These can be ordered and paid for online, whereupon the voucher will be mailed out to the recipient.

I have a specific dietary requirement, which products are suitable for me?

Ingredient and allergen information is listed on each product.

Can I collect an order direct form Argyll Smokery?

Yes you can, please contact us in advance to let us know what you need and when you would like to collect it.

Has my product ever been frozen?

NO! unlike most other larger smokehouses we never freeze or cut corners. Every Argyll Smokery product is hand produced fresh to order, quality is guaranteed.

Complaints, Returns procedure

Due to the very fresh nature of our products we do not offer a returns policy. In the very unlikely event you are unhappy with your goods or your product arrives in poor condition on arrival we ask that you contact us immediately and take a photograph of any damaged product and email it to us. We will do our up most to resolve any complaint as swiftly as possible.
